In the FAQ section of Vurige Kaars, you can find answers to frequently asked questions.
How long does it take to receive my order?
We do our best to prepare and ship your order as quickly as possible. This is usually within 2 working days. Packages are shipped via PostNL.
I want to place an order on your website. Can I pick it up somewhere?
This is not possible at the moment, but it will be available in the future!
What should I do if my order is incorrect or if something is damaged?
Contact us via info@vurigekaars.nl or WhatsApp and let us know what went wrong. Please also include your order number so we can assist you more quickly. If a product is damaged, we would also appreciate a photo of it.
Are your candles available in physical stores?
At the moment, our candles can only be ordered through the webshop. However, we regularly attend fairs/markets where you can also purchase our candles.
The product did not come in an additional box, is that correct?
That’s correct! We deliberately chose this. We believe it’s unnecessary since the box would just be thrown away anyway. By not adding extra packaging, we also save on costs for the customer. We try to ship products with as little unnecessary material as possible.
Why do you still use a bit of plastic?
Many products still contain some plastic, even if it’s just a small amount. Our goal is, of course, to avoid plastic as much as possible, but it cannot always be 100% guaranteed. Where we have the choice to use something other than plastic, we consciously opt for better, more natural alternatives. This includes the type of filling material we use, the kind of tape, and the material choices for our products, etc.
What kind of wax do you use for the candles?
We use a blend of rapeseed and coconut wax from Germany. Compared to paraffin, this wax is a better choice in several ways. For example, the candles burn longer, and no harmful substances are released during burning.
Does wax remain on the sides after burning the candle?
Through trial and error, we have found a suitable wick for each jar so that all the wax is actually used when burning the candles. Of course, there are factors that can cause some wax to remain on the sides (such as drafts or extinguishing the candle too quickly), but the majority should melt. Our tip is to let the entire top layer melt the first time you burn the candle before extinguishing it. The candle has a sort of “memory” of where it last burned. So, if the candle is blown out too early and the top layer has not fully melted, it will not go further the next time. This creates a tunnel, which is a waste!
Are the glass or ceramic jars reusable?
Absolutely! Once the candle has burned down, the jars can be reused. If there is still some wax in the jar, it can be removed with hot water.
Do you offer refill options?
At the moment, we are developing refill options for the medium candles (black and white glass jars).
